This gives me hope that things will get better. I live in Nigeria, the value the society has for women is much like what is described in this story. Maybe not as harsh because majority of women earn and can keep their earnings, but there are still so many shackles keeping women bound. Housework us 90% the woman’s turf, even if she is the busier partner. Hiring a maid is easy, however, most husbands dont want a paid maid or help. They believe it’s the woman’s job.
